[Match Report by Dave Strickland]
Kingswood built on last weeks win with another victory at home to a challenging Whitehall side. Two tries by Nate Walker-Hanley, and further tries from Jason Carter, Mark McGarrigle and Robbie Edwards, plus conversions and a penalty by Ian Kirley, secured the points for the home side.
The first 20 mins were equally contested by both teams, with the away side getting the first try via a breakaway move across the pitch. Kingswood’s scrum was challenged for some time before reorganising, which saw the home side dominate through the rest of the game and provide good distribution for the half backs to dictate proceedings.
Once again, the forwards organised well and worked as a firm 8 with excellent support from the back line. Lineouts were scrappy and honours were even securing ball from the set piece. At times, poor distribution and handling errors contributed to penalties in both halves for both teams.
Kingswood’s resilience and hard work paid off, as with Whitehall tiring, Kingswood capitalised and secured the points for a convincing and well-deserved victory.
