The Kingswood Knights mood was buoyant after their fantastic result over St. Mary's in the previous week.
Walcott proved to be a much tougher nut to crack. Kingswood played with as much discipline and skill that they had shown in their victory over St. Mary's but perhaps showed slightly less aggression than they had previously showed and it cost them when the game got physical.
Despite Walcott opening the scoring in the early half of the first game Kingswood's dogged defence held them firmly in their own half, denying them any opportunity of expanding their lead further . Kingswood then found their feet and started to score with superb Try's from Kingswood's U10's top try scorer Archie Prewett, who was also awarded the player of the match. Kingswood found themselves testing the Walcott defence with some great probing attacks which eventually lead to their third try curtesy of young Charlie Fry who battled the ball over the try line despite being attacked on all sides by the Walcott defence..
Kingswood got their heads together, and despite mounting pressure from the opposition they passed the ball well with some terrific rugby being played by Blake Shenton , Eva Willmott, Adam Bourton , Conrad Hamson , Cory Page and Harrison Abram in mid field.
The game then really started going end to end with Kingswood defending extremely well with the team keeping their form ready for any breaks. Daniel Brown, Jed Hill and Lawson Smith all had attempts to break away from the Walcott pack only to be denied by a very good Walcott defence.
The pitch was now getting really turned up and Kingswood started to resemble a mob of marauding swamp monsters but this failed to dampen their spirit or quench their thirst for even more try's.
Kingswood's defence stood defiant in the face of increasing pressure from Walcott with notable play from Ellie-Rose Crook, James Howarth, Travis Oakley, Oliver Toomey and Cameron Hackett.
It was great to see Kingswood showing true spirit and refusing to let Walcott's ever increasing score, stop them from exploiting each and every opportunity as it arose and from chasing down every attack no matter how of the pitch they needed to cover.
Once again all those watching were extremely proud of the effort and determination exhibited by the ladies and gentlemen of the Kingswood Knights U10's
