Game 1

Nailsea and Backwell vs Kingswood
Kingswood start the day with a game against the hosts and Kingswood start really well with Summer Chick scoring with the first phase of the day. Nailsea fight back but kingswood are in a determined mood today and the next two plays see Paige Woodward and Kaira Touray go over for their first points of the day. Back come Nailsea and break through our defence to score but not to be outdone we come back through Kaira Touray again and then Felicity Jenkins. Nailsea do not know what's hit them as Paige Woodward grabs another couple of tries.They come back at us and manage to get a score quickly followed by Paige Prince who gets her name on the scoresheet. Kaira Touray punishes some sloppy defending and grabs herself another. Some great defending and stealing sees Kingswood push forward with Katie Hodge going over closely followed by Felicity Jenkins. Nailsea just won't lie down though and reply with a try of their own but it's Paige Prince who goes over twice in the last couple of minutes to finish the game off.

Game 2

Cheddar Vs Kingswood
Its Cheddar up next and we know they are strong so we need to push up and defend our lines.Kingswood start and make good use of the line but surrender possession with a knock on. Cheddar punish us and break through to score. Kingswood restart but cheddar steal and put us under pressure, we defend well but again knock on and concede a try from the resulting scrum. The tackles are flying in from the restart with Katie Hodge, Kaira Touray and Esme Payne forcing mistakes and its Kaira Touray that gets the ball over. Cheddar are penalised for playing the ball on the ground and kingswood push forward. Cheddar's aggressive play is working and the steal the ball back and get over our line again.The game goes back and forth with both teams defending bravely but kingswood lose 3 more scores without reply before some good running by Monique Orme and Paige Woodward sees Katie Hodge get over with a great supporting run. Again the game ebbs and flows as kingswood struggle to contain Cheddar and they get another try despite some great defensive work by Felicity Jenkins, Stephanie Penlington and Gabrielle Norman.Kingswood attack again and this time a great team effort sees Paige Woodward put the ball over the line. Kingswood attack again with Kaira Touray making a lot of ground but we lose possession and Cheddar come straight back at us, we manage to push them out this time but unfortunately we lose three more tries in the final few minutes.

Game 3

Winscombe Vs Kingswood
Winscombe attack straight away and despite a massive tackle from Kaira Touray the ball is offloaded and they push through and score. Good running by Katie Hodge and good tackle from Felicity Jenkins, Kaira Touray steals and breaks forward but the ball is lost forward and Winscombe score from the resulting scrum.A good attacking phase created by Katie Hodge at the ruck and its Katie Hodge that finishes the move over the line. Winscombe again score straight from kick off. Kingswood attack again with Evie Coombs making a great run and offload to put Felicity Jenkins in for a score. Fantastic pressure from our girls but again winscombe break the tackles and get over in the corner. We regroup and start hitting every loose ball, we are starting to win the rucks and Gabrielle Norman finishes a great phase in the corner. We are putting so much pressure on at the breakdown that Winscombe are getting nervous. Summer Chick rips the ball,It goes through the line and Felicity Jenkins runs the length of the pitch to get more points for Kingswood. At 4-4 this game could go either way. Two evenly matched teams in skill and commitment. We lose the ball in the middle of the park and are punished as Winscombe scramble the ball over our line. Into the last minute and Kingswood muster one last attack and its Felicity Jenkins that goes over to ensure the spoils are shared.

Game 4

Frampton Cottrell vs Kingswood
Kingswood to start our final game of the day and we attack immediately with Gabrielle Norman getting the ball over. Paige Prince surges forward but is brought back for a hand off.Frampton start but we tackle well, the ball is spilled and Summer Chick scoops up the loose ball and drives over the line. Fantastic tackle from Esme Payne sees the ball come loose and this time Gabrielle Norman goes over to score. Paige Prince and Paige Woodward apply good pressure and force the turnover which Paige Woodward is more than happy to crash over the line. Now Evie Coombs is taking a advantage by ripping the ball and getting it over the line. Again we are seeing some great rugby from the girls with Monique Orme, Paige Prince and Stephanie Penlington all contributing. Frampton seem to have found their feet in this game and are beginning to hold us back but Gabrielle Norman spots a weakness and exploits it and goes over. Felicity Jenkins breaks a couple of tackles and gets herself over before Katie Hodge punches a hole in their defence and gets over the line. Katie Hodge has a taste for the points now and steals the ball at the ruck and forces herself over the line. Great tackles by Monique Orme and Kaira Touray but somehow Frampton manage to get the ball over for their first points of the game. Felicity Jenkins and Kaira Touray both score next and both set up with surging runs from Evie Coombs. Gabrielle Norman and Kaira Touray again break through Frampton’s brittle defence before the whistle sounds for the end of the game.
