This festival has our Kingswood under 13 girls playing 3 games.
1st game
Gordano and N Dorset
K start the game and apply some good early pressure and score 4 try's without reply. Great offensive play from all the girls and some great tackles from Summer Chick and Paige Cornford. Paige Cornford drops the ball over the line and missed the chance to get her first Kingswood try. Some good possession from Gordano sees the ball travel end to end. Again we drop the ball on the line and lose it Great awareness sees us regain the ball and score again. A couple of knock on's see Gordano make ground in our half and eventually get the ball over our line. K end the first half with 5 more tries from Louise Merrifield, Kaira Touray, Felicity Jenkins and Katie Hodge and then the last from Gabrielle Norman with a strong run from her own half.
Second half
Gordano start and it’s Paige Cornford who's up to them first. Great interaction between Paige Woodward and Gabrielle sees the latter running in a try. Felicity Jenkins then helps herself to a try before Kaira Touray does the same. Great tackling from Paige Prince, Evie Coombs and Paige Woodward sees Kaira Touray over the line again. Paige Woodward and Katie Hodge both go over the line from the next two phases with Katie Hodge seemingly dragging half of the Gordano team with her. Gordano don't give up and take advantage of a K lapse and run a score into the corner. Time for Summer Chick to get her first try in K colours with a great drive over the line. We celebrate too much and conceded another try. 4 more try's from Paige Woodward (2) Paige Prince and Gabrielle Norman see the mighty K finish the game with the win.
Gordano 3-21 Kingswood

2nd game
Cheddar
Cheddar start well and push us back. We hold our own with some big tackles from Madeline Chappell and Louise Merrifield and turn the ball over and Felicity Jenkins touches down in the corner. From the restart we show great speed and determination to get Louise Merrifield over the line. The next phase sees fantastic support from all the girls to move the ball around Cheddar through the hands ending with Katie Hodge driving over. The first half is ended with an injury to a Cheddar player.
Second Half
Kingswood start the second half and seem a bit over confident. Cheddar bring the game to us and we defend well. Eventually they get a deserved score. The pressure continues and we hold them out in the corner for what seems a lifetime. All the girls are working for each other and keep resisting the battering from Cheddar.They do get another try and it's getting a bit tense now .We make a change or two and apply some pressure of our own fantastic tackling gets us possession and the teamwork and support play results in today's captain Kaira Touray getting a hard fought try .There's time left for Cheddar to get 1 back but it's not enough to catch Kingswood.

3rd game
Nailsea and Backwell
The girls learn from the last game and a more disciplined confidence is evident. We watched N & B in their previous game and notice they have a major threat in no 19 who scored all of their tries. Our girls decide to double team her at every opportunity and the strategy works. From the start they go for the line but we double up and force them out. They turn the ball over and they escape us to get the first points. We push back and Felicity Jenkins goes over twice to give us the lead. N &B fight back and get a score of their own. K really dig in now and the girls create gaps which Felicity Jenkins doesn't need an invitation to expose. We then draw them in and create the overlap and again it's Felicity Jenkins that takes advantage. We push forward again, some great tackles flying in from all our girls. We get 2 more scores from Gabrielle Norman and Paige Woodward to bring the first half to a close.
Second half
The second half starts as the first ended with Kingswood applying all the pressure Gabrielle Norman pushes forward and gets the first try. The awareness and support brings a first try for one of our newbies Madeline Chappell as Gabrielle Norman surges forward and Madeline Chappell receives a great offload. K turn the ball over and it seems Madeline Chappell has a taste for scoring with another try after some great teamwork creates another overlap. N &B do not get disheartened and apply some pressure to break through our defence and get a try. Today's captain Kaira Touray then takes the game to the next level with two great try's in the last few minutes coming from a powerful team effort .The whistle goes for the end of the game and Kingswood players and supporters and coaches alike are all full of smiles.

MOTM - Felicity Jenkins.

How's this for sportsmanship…
Gordano were struggling for players due to injuries and our entire team volunteered to play for them Felicity, Evie and Paige Prince all played a part for them with Felicity scoring a few tries. Unfortunately Paige Prince fell badly and was injured but she picked herself up and made herself available for our last game but was an unused sub.
