With a long journey to Castle Cary RFC the Under 13 Girls team were ready and raring to go. With a squad of 9 there should be plenty of chance to sub the players at regular intervals so as not to wear them out too quickly.
The first game was against a team called The Nomads.
There was a definite strong start with Tia Witcombe receiving a pass from the starting tap and powering through the opposition to score the first try of the game. Even though there were some really big tackles by Grace Veitch , Tia and Katie Hodge, The Nomads were rewarded for their effort and scored an equalizing try. The final game was against Minehead, who I understand had won their previous games and assumed they would beat Kingswood!
The Kingswood girls were fired up from the start, even though they had waited 45 minutes for this final game due to a couple of serious injurys needing Ambulances! With their immense tackling and support for one another they did not allow the Minehead side to make any ground or look as though they had much chance at getting near their try line.
