Amazing rugby display results in Kingswood domination

It's a very meek and murky Sunday 22nd March and as the dewy mist clings to the glistening grass, the mighty Knights U13's prepare the ground to enter into battle against Chepstow RFC.
As the parents and spectators jostle for the best viewing positions - the boys are on the field warming up with pace and power, flexing their muscles and showing the awesome skills they are about to put to the test.
Our Captain for todays match is Mikey Oppery, and as he steps up to shake the hand of the captain of their rivals, everyone looks on believing that the outstanding displays of rugby and sportsmanship will be present on the battleground again today.
We lose the toss and Chepstow kick off the game, the ball is lofted high towards the Knights, Billy Wooldridge takes the ball cleanly and powers Forward closely followed by Henry Wilson and Cameron Monks and as Billy is tackled Henry and Cam ruck over and possession is retained by Kingswood, and the ball is expertly passed down back line and Kingswood winger Sam Dee makes some fantastic ground down the touchline before being tackled into touch just short of Chepstows 22.
Chepstow take the resulting lineout but with an expertly timed tackle Captain Oliver Golding steals possession away from Chepstow and the ball is fed out through Scrum half Joe Maslen – onto our onrushing Fly half Jake Kendall who in such scintillating form at the moment double dummies 2 Chepstow backs – shows them a clean pair of heals and ducks in under the posts for the Knights first converted try of the game on 1 minute – the crowd go wild cheering and applauding as Kingswoods prowess on the ball once again finds its way to the try line.
Chepstow though are no slouches on the ball and as soon as they kick off they are straight in the faces of the Knights and with some hustle and bustle manage to turn over – but the boys are putting in some power tackles with Lewis Hobbs taking no prisoners he's not prepared to let anyone past him today and time and time again manages to stop the flow of Chepstows back line, but the pressure is relentless from the opposition – and with some quick thinking from the opposing flyhalf they take a quick tap penalty and catch the Knights unaware to dive over for their first try of the game on 10 minutes which is not converted.
The Knights kick off and this time it's our turn to pile on the pressure with Daniel Fletcher being first there to tackle the ball taker and my god does he tackle him – then George Clarke-Dove dives in to support him and as Jacob Golding, flies in to support and the Knights ruck off Chepstow and steal the ball away, Joe Maslen again hooks the ball out to Jake Kendall and on to Cameron Monks who powers through and gains 10 meters of ground, he's tackled to the floor and Oliver Golding and Billy Wooldridge drive in and over to retain possession - the ball is again fed out down the line and jacobGolding makes an amazing run down the touchline to score the 2nd Knights try on 11 minutes, Jake Kendall converts.
Once again it's Chepstows kick off and Billy Wooldridge who seems to be everywhere today takes possession again for Kingswood he passes the ball and is powerfully carried forward by Lewis Hobbs to score the 3rd try on 19 minutes and Jake Kendall again Converts - end of the first 20 and the boys are 21 – 5 ahead.
The lads are playing outstanding today – they are focussed on the task and playing for each other the forwards are strong and the backs are quick.
Kingswood kick off the second half and with some steely aggression and power play put Lewis Hobbs in for his 2nd try of the game which Jake Kendall again converts, 28-5, but 3 minutes later after some hard hitting rugby from both teams Chepstow run in under the posts to score bringing the tally to 28-10.
In the final 15 minutes it would be Kingswood pressure that would bring about the next try of the game for Jacob Golding and the resulting conversion taking the score to 35-10, however this was not to be the end as some fantastic rugby – rucking over through at least four phases would see Chepstow powerfully assisted over the line for their 3rd unconverted try today, and this is how the game would finish Kingswood Knights RFC 35-15 Chepstow RFC.
With all the Kingswood supporters looking and cheering on the boys – they can all be extremely proud of their accomplishment today and a great win over very gracious opposition in defeat.
There was some fantastic rugby today from everyone on the pitch today – Captain Mikey Oppery at hooker who was amazing today, Henry Wilson our stand in prop who time and again proved himself in the scrum, Billy Wooldridge loose head prop who was just awesome, Cameron Monks and Thomas Brimble at second row who both tackled, rucked and ball carried expertly, Flankers Jacob Golding tackler supreme with 2 tries and George Clarke-Dove who's prowess on the ball today was outstanding, Captain Oliver Golding at 8 who seems to be just getting better and better each week, Joe Maslen at Scrum Half the heart of the team, jumping, darting, dummy master Jake Kendall at Fly half who was unforgettably outstanding today, hammer tackler and Inside Centre Lewis Hobbs who again was completely amazing today as time and again showed his prowess as one of the Knights best tacklers with 2 tries, Sam Dee at Outside Centre who ball carried well and put in 2 fantastic try saving tackles, Chris Knight who's confidence is growing week by week as he shows his pace and agility on the wing – and Daniel Fletcher playing some times at centre then on the wing was also on top form today with powerful forwar runs, but the Man of the Match went to Flanker and then outside centre George Clarke-Dove who thoroughly deserved his accolade today for an outstanding performance.
Over all – fantastic rugby from the Knights.
