The Kingwood Saxons turned up for their match against Rotork Rhinos with one goal in mind: victory. After two difficult games against the league's top teams, the Saxons were intent on coming away with a win, especially after their 1 point loss the previous week. They started well; the team putting the opposition under almost constant pressure in the first 10 minutes to race into a 3-0 lead. Rotork fought back as Kingswood lifted off the pressure, scoring two quick tries to Kingswood's 1 resulting in a 4-2 half time score. Intent not to repeat the mistakes of the previous week, the Saxons kept it tight in the second half, doing the basics and keeping the ball in the opposition's half. Not only did this lead to a further 3 tries, but some outstanding defence resulted in a clean sheet in the second half. Final score: Kingswood Saxons 7-2 Rotork Rhinos. Player of the match went to Mariko Broome for her 'safe pair of hands.
