Kingswood Fall To Disappointing Home Defeat To Ashley Down

On paper this was a fixture that should have saw Kingswood get back to winning ways, and for most of this fixture, it appeared as if they would. Despite being awarded numerous penalties throughout the match, Kingswood failed to capitalise on the opportunities and Ashley Down stole the victory in the final minutes.

Two first half penalties from Ashley Honeywell and a 2nd half try from Paul Allen appeared to be enough to give Kingswood the victory, but disaster struck as they lost Captain & Scrum Half Ben Phillips to injury who had to be replaced by a hobbling Gareth Pond who had pulled out of the game in the warm-up due to a groin strain.

Mike Oakley was carted off to hospital missing a lip and James Dicks was forced off from the Front Row with a neck injury.

All the chopping and changing on top of the injuries already sustained before the game was enough to allow Ashley Down over in the corner at the end to steal the victory.
