Kingswood grabbed a much needed home win this weekend with a 2 tries to 1 victory over bottom of the table Ross On Wye.
Kingswood have had many a battle in the past with their old foes and this game was no different as throughout this game, there was never more than a try between the teams.
Ross took the lead on 8 minutes (0-5) before Dean Stephens pulled the scores level after a lovely handoff to get the ball down over the line in the corner on 12 minutes. 5-5
It took until the 36th minute for the game to see more points and this came in the form of an over the defence chip from Dean Stephens which saw the ball bounce fortuitously into the hands of James Willmott who fell over the line for a Kingswood score 10-5.
The 2nd half saw both teams exchange penalty kicks to take the score to 13-8 but Kingswood controlled the later stages and even spurred some chances for more points to hold out for a vital home win.
The league is still very tight, with 8 points separating 1st spot and 11th, so this win keeps Kingswood with the rest of the league as they look to move away from the drop zone.
