Kingswood secured their 1st league win of the season with a comfortable home victory over newly relegated Gloucester Old Boys. With the Forwards dominating up front, taking numerous scrums against the head, Kingswood Backs had plenty of time on the ball and caused Gloucester problems all afternoon.
Kingswood fell behind after an early penalty, but once they got their hands on the ball, they found themselves two tries up thanks to Centre, Paul Allen, with Ben Phillips adding the extras.
Gloucester pulled a try back on the half hour mark, but this would prove to be their last points of the day.
A further try before half time from Winger Mark O'Connell, saw Kingswood go in 19-8 at half time.
In the 2nd half, Kingswood’s fitness prevailed and Mark McGarrigle and Damien Crosswell both got the ball down over the line to extend Kingswood’s lead out to 29-8.
With Kingswood forcing Gloucester back on nearly every scrum, the referee finally had enough of infringements and awarded Kingswood a penalty try right on full-time. Ben Phillips added the extra two points as Kingswood ran out 36-8 winners.
