Despite dominating in the forwards, out scoring their opponents by 4 tries to 2 and playing 10 minutes with an extra man, Ashley Down could only come away from their fixture with Kingswood with 2 bonus points, whilst the homeside clung on to remain unbeaten in 2011.
Ashley Down's superior power in the rolling mauls led them to a much deserved 0-10 lead, but thanks to the boot of Scrum Half Ben Phillips, Kingswood went in just a single point down at half time, trailing 9-10. An early try in the 2nd period from James Willmott, gave Kingswood a surprising lead, but they were soon pegged back as Ashley Down went over for another two scores, leading to a commanding 16-22 lead. But after putting their fans through a nail-biting finish last week, Kingswood once again put hearts in mouths as Paul Allen crossed with just a minute remaining and Kingswood held a 23-22 lead. That wasn't the last of the action though, as from the restart, Ashley Down once again powered downfield and an attempted drop goal sailed towards the posts, but the ball sailed wide and with it came the referees final whistle to secure the homeside their 4th straight victory and send them up to the dizzy heights of 5th place.
