Dan Montagu's first game in charge of Kingswood ended with an outstanding victory over visiting Dursley. The Bristol No. 8 has made light work of continuing the progression made under the departing Mike Jones since taking over the reigns last month. It didn't start well for Kingswood though, with the home side under the cosh for the majority of the 1st half and conceeding numerous penalties, but Dursley's strange reluctance to go for the posts cost them dearly as Kingswood defence kept them at bay. Worst was still to come for the visitors as Kingswood battled back towards the end of the half and actually finished on top, thanks to a penalty from Scrum Half, Ben Phillips. Dursley continued to press in the 2nd half and ran over a dubious try early in the period, for a 3-7 lead. The home side then sparked into life and controlled the majority of the possession for the remainder of the game and two further penalities from Phillips gave them a slender 9-7 lead. It was hearts in mouths stuff at the end for Kingswood, with the last kick of the game going to Dursley for a long range penalty effort, but fortunately for the home side, the kick was missed and a clever restart from Ben Phillips lead to the ball sailing into touch to secure an amazing victory.
