Kingswood secured their 2nd victory of the season with another 41 point haul, this time over visiting Imperial. All the points were scored by the Backs, which featured Club Captain, and Front-Rower, Mark Oakley, in the Centre. There was also a debut for new signing, Rich Wood, on the wing.
Kingswood claimed 7 tries in all, with Mark Oakley, Chris Wyn-Lewis and Mike Iles all bagging a brace. Joe Needs bagged 1 try as well. Chris Finn converted 3 of the 7 conversions.
The pick of the tries came from Winger, Mike Iles. With Kingswood securing a ruck on their own 10 metre line, the ball was spun through the Backs and Joe Needs came on to the ball at pace and split the Imperial defence in 2. Needs made it all the way to the Imperial 10 metre line before passing to Mike Iles in support. Iles stepped one 1 defender, before showing good strength to hold off a second challenge, before executing another cracking sidestep which left the final defender clutching at thin air, allowing Iles to go over the line for a fantastic score.
Kingswood now face an important encounter with Cotham Park in the league next Saturday.
