Welcome back everyone to our first game of 2014 away to Chipping Sodbury.
Although bitterly cold at the ground, everyone arrived organised and ready to go!
As usual, the Knights turnout was great with at least two teams of players available. Chipping Sodbury had a mixed team with a couple of these playing at least a year above where they should be. This shows the commitment and effort put in by the coach and young players. They put up an excellent defence to the prolonged attack, however, were not quite strong enough today.
The Knights have put in a lot of hard work with extra training on Tuesday evening ‘s prior to the Christmas break, this really has taken their playing to another level now. Their passing is a lot smoother and this certainly enabled them to have some great runs and cross the line with a large amount of tries today.
The end of the game brought lots of hand shakes to both sides. Fair play to both teams today as it was a very very cold, windy winter morning! A big appreciative thank you from the Knights to the parents was shown at the end too.
Try Scorers were:-
Findlay Starkey – 4
Thomas Morse – 2
Haydn Vince – 2
Molly Bleadon – 1
Alfie Rossiter – 1
Zach Tomlin – 2
Finlay Henderson-Barr – 2
Ethan Henderson Barr – 1
The Man of the Match was awarded to the WHOLE TEAM – Awarded for all round fantastic performance and team play. A huge well done to you all!
See you all next week for training.
