It was a beautiful day for a game of rugby with Kingswood facing an old rival.. St Marys. Kingswood got off to a great start with Jacob scoring a fantastic try. St Marys came straight back and a line out at their end resulted in their first try. The game started to pick up pace but some strong defensive work by Kingswood kept the ball in the middle ground. St Marys won the next scrum allowing them to break away and score their second try. Another try and conversion quickly followed for St Marys despite a couple of cracking tackles from Mikey and Chris. The half time whistle blew with the score at 17/5 to St Marys.
A half time substitution was made with Cam, who had played bravely despite feeling unwell, coming off and new boy Josh making his debut for Kingswood. St Marys, benefitting from five substitutions, were rearing to go. Despite some courageous defending and a couple of strong tackles from Joe and Ollie B St Marys managed to score five more tries in a short space of time winning the game 46/5.
Josh was awarded man of the match for a great first game for Kingswood. Well done Josh.
