Pastures New

The game kicked off ay 11am prompt with Kingswood getting the ball down their end and keeping it there. A near miss for Kingswood resulted in some excellent mauling from the forwards. Kingswood won the ball and Jacob broke away to score the games first try, converted by Jake. Aggressive tackling and good clearing out from Henry and Dylan kept Gordano at bay and allowed the backs to make good ground. A penalty for a Kingswood high tackle gave Gordano a chance but they were unable to keep the ball down their end for long. Ollie B and Dan made good ground and a scrum near the Kingswood try line set Jacob up for another try, again converted by Jake. The Knights were on fire. The next scrum lead to Ollie G getting his first try on the season. A another try and conversion by Jake quickly followed. The Ref blew his whistle for half time with the score at 26/0 to Kingswood Knights.
The second half started with the ball being kicked down the Kingswood end. Cam, Billy and Jordan all putting in strong tackles and good support contributing to Tom scoring a try. Gordano hadn't given up the fight, and a fast paced run by Chris ended with him being tackled hard, but he got up to continue. The next scrum was won by Gordano and some solid play lead them to score a try. With the score at 31/5 Kingswood were determined to keep the upper hand. Kingswood looked very strong in the next scrum with Mikey hooking well. Some exciting mauling ensued which lead to another try and conversion for Jake. Gordano rallied and Kingswood had to defend hard with George, just back from injury, and Joe putting in great effort. The next scrum won by Kingswood gave Lewis a chance to score a try beneath the posts, expertly converted by Jake. Kingswood kept up the pressure until the last minutes. Ollie G and Tom made a run for the try line with Kingswood looking to make another try. Gordano won the ball back and made a dash for their 10 yard line, but the ball was stopped and kicked into touch by Joe. The Ref blew the whistle for full time with Kingswood the winners; the score 45/5. Chris Knight was given man of the match, well done Chris. Coach Tom praised all the players saying that each and every one of them had given 110%.
