Salisbury Walking Rugby Tournament No Walk In The Park

2 weeks ago By Alan Bell

Kingswood do however hold on to make it 2 tournament victories this season.

Kingswood’s Walking Rugby team have secured yet another trophy in a season that is turning out to be very successful indeed. Off the back of their tournament win at the Keynsham Walking Festival, Kingswood have now added the Salisbury Walking Rugby trophy to the cabinet as well after a undefeated performance.

First up for Kingswood were the Topsham Fossils, and despite going down 1-0 early on, Kingswood regrouped and finished on top with a solid 1-3 win.

Next for Kingswood were local side, Bristol Pioneers. Once again, Kingswood trailed 1-0 before going on to secure a cracking 1-5 victory.

Kingswood’s 3rd match was against Salisbury Strollers, and they made light work of the host side, securing a fantastic 2-6 victory to set up a fantastic final fixture with Salisbury Zimmers.

Salisbury Zimmers and Kingswood were both undefeated before this match, so it was winner takes all. It was an incredibly tight game against the tournaments 2 best sides, but Kingswood did enough to secure a close 2-3 victory and lift the Salisbury RFC Walking Rugby Tournament.
