An announcement from Club Chairman Jim Stacey

It is with a heavy heart that I write this message to inform all club members of the passing of former Club Captain and Kingswood Player, Mark Arnott. Mark sadly passed away on Monday.

Arnie, as he was affectionately known to his friends at the club, was a first team regular in the late 80’s to the early 90’s and was Club Captain for two seasons. In recent years Arnie has been involved with the club through playing for the vets a few years ago and more recently attending and promoting the “Old Boys” days, including the 60th Anniversary celebration dinner as pictured above.

As a player, Arnie was a tremendously committed back row forward, who thrived in the competition at the breakdown, getting himself into all sorts of positions to slow the ball down or to turn over possession.

It is very sad news and all of our thoughts are with Mark's wife Nikky & their two children.

Mark’s funeral will be at 4pm next Friday, followed by a gathering at Kingswood RFC (further details to follow).

All Senior teams will observe a minutes silence before kick off on the 12th September as a mark of respect to Arnie and for his contribution to the club.
