The 2 heavyweights are ready to get the clubhouse buzzing again on a Saturday

The main aim this season is to get a strong, committed unit again, enjoy some competitive matches with your mates and a lot more fun, and hopefully, victories
- Vice Captain, Liam O'Loughlin

There was great news for the Senior section at the AGM last night as Mark Oakley was elected Club Captain for a 2nd season. The versatile Forward did an amazing job last season despite the issues on the field. This year, Oakley will be ably assisted by fellow Front-Rower, Liam O'Loughlin, and the pair made it clear that the main aim for this season is to get the buzz back into the clubhouse on a Saturday.

"Last year was quite demoralising on the field for the players with the amount of defeats and the relegation" said Oakley at the recent Annual Dinner. "The guys who stepped up and played each week did an amazing job, but losing so many players to injury, retirement and house moves was just too much to absorb and unfortunately this led to a large number of defeats. In those situations, it's really hard to keep a positive atmosphere, especially in the clubhouse afterwards."

Adding to the Captains comments, O'Loughlin said this season needed to be about getting the buzz back into the clubhouse post match. "The main aim this season is to get a strong, committed unit again, enjoy some competitive matches with your mates and a lot more fun, and hopefully, victories. This will hopefully pump life back into the clubhouse after the game and allow everyone to enjoy their rugby at Kingswood RFC again."
