Proud moment for the club as members of fledging Girls team break in at County level.

This has been the best rugby day ever and I love the Gloucestershire County squad already
- Tia Witcombe

The Kingswood RFC Girls teams may not have long been in existence, but that hasn’t stopped 2 of our Knights from already making waves at County level. Under 15’s players, Grace Veitch and Tia Witcombe, recently made the whole club proud by being selected for the Somerset County and Gloucestershire County teams respectively.

Grace and Tia didn’t have to wait long to don their new shirts, as both were in action at the recent Gloucester County Festival. Not only did they both face the likes of Buckinghamshire, Oxford and Devon, but they also had to face each other as Somerset took on Gloucester.

Grace got the chance to play Hooker, a position she has always wanted to play, and was buzzing after the experience. Somerset’s Coach said “Grace had a very good afternoon and made a huge contribution in the matches she played in. She is certainly coming on in leaps and bounds”.

Tia also made a great impression on her Coaches as she grabbed a try in Gloucestershire’s win over Oxford. “This has been the best rugby day ever and I love the Gloucestershire County squad already” Tia said after the game.

Well done girls, the club, your coaches and your family and friends are very proud of you.
