Winger ready to put injuries behind him and get back to his best.

I am back in the gym and I am now going full-force in Pre-Season training to get back to full fitness
- Anthony Davies

Anthony Davies says he is going ‘full-force’ into Pre-Season training in order to grab a starting position in the Kingswood 1st XV for the new 2016/17 season. Davies, who suffered a major injury setback at the end of 2014, is back on the training pitch after 2 successful shoulder operations earlier in the year.

Despite the extensive surgical work, Davies says he is now relishing the opportunity to get back into the starting line-up and staking a claim for a 1st XV shirt.

“It’s been a long recovery process” said Davies. “I have undergone 2 shoulder operations. A total reconstruction of my left shoulder and 2 pins and 2 screws in the right. However, I am back in the gym and I am now going full-force in Pre-Season training to get back to full fitness”.

Having not played for over 18 months, Davies is aware of the challenges he faces, particularly when it comes to the talent at Kingswood RFC.

“The squad Kingswood have assembled over the summer break is looking strong and there is clearly a lot of competition for places with some really talented lads putting in a lot of effort in training, but I am putting in the effort as well and hopefully I can show Head Coach, Mike Jones, how much I want that shirt when the first game comes around”.
