 Kingswood 3's Vs Bristol Saracens 3's

Kingswood 3rd's came started the game on a high after their 10 10 draw with Broad Plain last week. This was evident from the start, even with the addition of some new players and old faces alike. Kingswood received the kick and good early work from the forwards saw Saracens pinned down into their own 22 for the first ten minutes.

A penalty to Saracens saw a lofting clearance from the fly half that gave them the territory they needed. Saracens secured the lineout on the Kingswood 22 and poor defensive play and missed first time tackles saw Saracens run in with a 3 man overlap 0-7

Another display of poor discipline after the re-start gave Saracens a penalty 10 meters out, quick thinking from the prop saw a nice little tap and go completely catching the Kingswood defence off guard 0-14

 Good pressure again from the Kingswood pack saw Saracens pinned down in their own half but a near identical penalty led to a near identical try only moments later 0-21

An injury to Simon Bryant saw a Kingswood debut for Dan Coward at full back. Kingswood turned over the re-start and saw the backs come painfully close to breaking through with a good combination from Jack Crow and Nick Cox in the centre. Saracens gained another penalty and a good move from their backs was finally put over the line by the forwards 0-21

Half Time: Kingswood 3-5 Bristol Saracens

The second half saw the addition of Lee Hancock, John Marshall, Derek Goulding and Dave Vince.

A slow start to the second half saw Kingswood locked down in their 22 before conceding an early try 0 - 28

 Good pressure from the kick secured a turn over with good pick up & go tactics gaining Kingswood yards before Dave Cooper crossed the line to open the Kingswood scoring 5-28

Some good pressure from Kingswood was again given away by a penalty. Saracens kicked for the corner and setup a lineout on the Kingswood 5 meter line. Carl Smith leapt in the air to take one against the head setting up the ball for scrum half Mike Iles. Derek Goulding put a kick up field chased and caught after the bounce by Jack Stone on the half way line. Jack made off on a run to be brought down by the full back, a lovely offload to Dave Vince put him over the line for a Kingswood try. 10-28

Saracens did however run in a further two tries before the end of the game which finished off Kingswood's fight back
